Wolviston Management Services are proud to be supporting our client with the appointment of an experienced Painter to join their production team.

This is a hands-on role within a busy fabrication environment, playing a key part in delivering high-quality protective coatings to structural steel components in line with drawings, specifications, and industry standards.
 
The Role
As a Painter, you will be responsible for preparing and applying protective paint systems to structural steel, ensuring durability, quality, and compliance with safety and environmental requirements.
Key responsibilities will include:
  • Applying paints and protective coatings to structural steel and fabricated components
  • Preparing steel surfaces through cleaning, blasting, and chemical treatment processes
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and paint schedules
  • Operating spray equipment, brushes, and rollers to achieve consistent, high-quality finishes
  • Mixing and matching coatings to ensure colour accuracy and specification compliance
  • Monitoring, cleaning, and maintaining painting and spraying equipment
  • Safely operating overhead cranes when handling steel components
  • Working in accordance with site health, safety, and environmental procedures at all times
About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally bring:
  • Experience as a Structural Steel Painter or in a similar industrial painting role
  • Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Proven experience with surface preparation techniques, including blasting and pressure washing
  • Good working knowledge of industrial paints, coatings, and application methods
  • Experience using spray guns and associated painting equipment
  • A strong focus on quality, safety, and attention to detail
  • The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Experience using overhead cranes (advantageous)

  • Able to work on own initiative within a production environment
  • Willing to undertake on-the-job training to further develop skills and knowledge
