Warehouse Operative

About the Role
We're supporting our client in the search for experienced Warehouse Operatives to join their established logistics operation in Stockton-on-Tees.
This role is key to ensuring the smooth and efficient running of warehouse activities — maintaining accuracy, safety, and productivity across all materials handling and stock control operations.
 
Key Responsibilities

• Carry out day-to-day warehouse activities, including palletising, picking, stock movements, and general material handling.
• Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
• Support goods-in and goods-out processes — including unloading deliveries, inspecting components, and accurate documentation.
• Maintain warehouse systems, ensuring stock is located, recorded, and tracked correctly.
• Conduct periodic audits, stock checks, and cycle counts.
• Adhere to all site health, safety, and housekeeping standards.
• Support deliveries and collections using the company vehicle when required.
• Communicate effectively with the Team Leader and Operations Management regarding operational issues or improvements.

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or distribution environment.
• Valid FLT licence (Flexi licence preferred).
• Sound understanding of warehouse processes, safety practices, and stock control.
• Good IT literacy and experience with warehouse management systems (e.g. Dispatcher).
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Positive, team-oriented attitude with flexibility to meet operational demands.

Qualifications & Training

• Suitable warehousing or storage qualification (desirable).
• Ongoing training provided in:
  • Health & Safety Awareness
  • Manual Handling
  • MHE Operations
  • Fire Marshal Training
  • On-the-job system and process training
