Wolviston Management Services are recruiting on behalf of our client for a Mechanical Design Engineer to support innovative design and development projects within a leading engineering environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled engineer with a strong background in mechanical design and a passion for creating high-quality, technically robust solutions.
 
What You'll Be Doing

• Designing and developing mechanical parts, assemblies and machinery used across a range of engineering applications.
• Producing high-quality 3D and 2D CAD models and detailed manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks and/or similar 3D CAD software.
• Supporting product development through all stages—from concept and prototyping through to production release.
• Undertaking design calculations, tolerance analysis and materials selection to ensure reliability, performance and compliance with engineering standards.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams including electrical, production and service engineers to ensure seamless integration of designs.
• Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and supporting innovation within the design function.
• (Desirable) Utilising 3D printing technologies for prototype creation, design validation and development testing.

What We're Looking For

• HNC/HND (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Proven experience in the mechanical design of machinery, equipment or precision-engineered parts.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks or other 3D CAD platforms.
• Knowledge of engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills and the ability to take ownership of design projects.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a collaborative and proactive approach.
• Experience with 3D printing or rapid prototyping is advantageous but not essential.
