Craft Mechanical Team Leader to join their engineering team.
This is a fantastic opportunity to take the next step in your engineering career, leading a dedicated team of skilled engineers and contractors, while playing a key role in the operational success of a nationally significant site.
The Opportunity In this hands-on leadership role, you’ll oversee mechanical engineering work across manufacturing and workshop areas, ensuring that planned activities are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard. You’ll coordinate day-to-day tasks, drive standards, and take ownership of team outputs and site safety.
This role goes beyond supervision – you’ll be expected to lead from the front, apply sound engineering judgement, resolve issues, and act decisively when challenges arise.
Key Responsibilities - Lead and coordinate work groups across internal and contractor teams
- Deliver and monitor planned maintenance and engineering work
- Support safe working practices and compliance with engineering standards
- Provide leadership in resolving technical, quality and safety issues
- Maintain accurate records through relevant reporting systems
What We’re Looking For - NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant mechanical engineering discipline
- A recognised apprenticeship (certification required)
- Experience in a heavy industrial or manufacturing maintenance environment
- Flexible, proactive problem-solver with a practical mindset
- Natural leader with strong communication and team coordination skills
